Nils Granath, Director

Nils been active in the mobile and internet space since 1995.

His previous experience includes selling Ericsson’s first mobile system in Ukraine, introducing digital mobile network technology in Brazil, management of international web consulting projects at Icon Medialab, raising venture capital for Mobilisys as well as establishing Sicap in the mobile device management space.

In addition to his role at NearShore is Nils an Investment Officer at Swisscom Ventures, being on the boards of Swisscom Auto ID Services AG, Diino AB and Liberovision AG as well as a Partner at Matrixs, a business advisory boutique.

Nils is Swedish and holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau as well as an MSc from Linköping Institute of Technology and ENSAM in Paris. He has one patent granted and four pending for product innovations.

In summary: 15 years of experience in entrepreneurship and investments in mobile telecoms and internet space as well as operational experience as a manager and owner.

Günther Koopmann, Managing Director

Günther has about 25 years experience in managing and building businesses and operations in different global telecommunications and semiconductor industries.

Prior to heading NearShore he held several management positions at Siemens Switzerland building their Swiss internet and mobile services business for telecom operators for seven years. Before that he joined Ascom Switzerland to help them integrating their acquisition of Timeplex Inc. in the German corporate networking market, to integrate their carrier broadband access business with Ericsson on a global basis and to build their Swiss internet business for telecom operators. In 1989 Günther joined Asea Brown Boveri Switzerland to turn around their global sales and marketing operations for high power semiconductors. In the beginning of the 1980s, out of Silicon Valley California, he built the North American compound semiconductor business for Wacker Siltronic in Germany.

Günther holds an MBA from Insead in Fontainebleau, France and an MSc in Physics from the technical university of Darmstadt, Germany. He is married and has twin boys.
